Foodbank August update
The foodbank appreciates all donations but is particularly in need of :
Size 5 Nappies
It is hard to believe that we are nearing our 5th birthday in October. What better way to celebrate our 5th birthday than to open our 5th day for distribution! We had been looking to open a Tuesday session for some time more toward Newtownbreda direction. We were aware of client groups that were not currently able to access our services due to the distance they needed to travel. We also work with many of the Health Services that operate out of Knockbracken Health Park and Mount Oriel. So when Belvoir Community Hub approached us about operating out of their building we knew we had found our location. Their recently opened Community Hub is a fantastic space with a lovely welcoming atmosphere. We have been getting ready over the last few weeks, organising storage, packing space, getting the necessary admin sorted etc.
Now we need to recruit volunteers for this shift. This foodbank shift will be open to the public from 2pm to 4pm but volunteers would need to be there from 1pm to set up and a little time at the end of the shift to tidy away.
We are hoping to be ready to open early/mid September.
