We would like to invite all our Fitzroy community to connect with each other during Lent and join the events in the programme below.  Our programme is built around our Sunday evening Lent reflections as described below but include a wide range of opportunities to connect with each other and bring Fitzroy Together during Lent.

Lent Reflections

These Sunday evening events are a series of meditative readings, reflections, music and prayers presented by members of our church family. These will all be taken from the Travel Narratives found in Luke’s Gospel. Jesus is on his way to Jerusalem and the Cross. He uses the journey to declare the life of the Kingdom and what it means to be his follower.  The overall theme of our Fitzroy Lent Reflections is ‘Journeying with Jesus to the Cross’

Finding North: Compass Conversations

A compass is essential when we start a journey especially when we are in unfamiliar territory and in adverse conditions.  We need to know where ‘north’ is to take our bearings and set direction.

Since March 2020 we have all been travelling in unknown territory.   We have all made rapid changes in almost every aspect of our lives. Each of us has had to redraw our personal map of our world, as our familiar routines, lifestyle patterns and contact points with friends and family have changed.  Yet in the midst of the turmoil, good things are emerging.

The Compass Conversations will be a chance to talk with other Fitzers about what you have noticed about yourself and others over the last 12 months. By sharing our observations, we can make sense of our experiences and reflect on what has been important to us.

This will help you set your ‘north’ point which will help you plan your journey into the future whatever it may hold.

There will be two sessions on Wednesday 3rd March and Wednesday 24th March. The first session will focus on looking back and the second session will focus on looking ahead.

You can come to one or both.  Each will last an hour from 7.30-8.30 pm.  The sessions will be informal, interactive and enjoyable. 

They will be hosted on Zoom by Anne McMurray and Trisha Eaton
