Fitzroy Welcome Team
The Welcome Team exists to ensure a warm welcome is given to everyone who comes to Fitzroy on any Sunday. Fitzroy has many different people coming into the building; there are people who are coming in for the first time to those who have been walking in through our doors for years. As a congregation we all arrive to church carrying a variety of experiences, emotions and circumstances. Each person requires a warm welcome, a friendly smile and an opportunity for a conversation.
This vital pastoral role in undertaken by 12 teams, each providing cover for one month. The teams open up the building, ensure all the entrance doors are manned to give a warm welcome to all as they arrive and then oversee the closing up of the church.
Being part of the Welcome Team is a fun way to get to know others in the team and also to get the opportunity to chat to people as they enter and leave church The new revised rota since September has been up and running but has a few gaps that need filled.
